We’d like to thank you for sticking with us through another year, the 29th since Sage Francis put tracks to tape and kicked off this thing that is still going and growing over a quarter-century later.

Here are a few of the highlights of our Strange Famous 2024:

No Deer Hunter, a powerful, personal single from the powerhouse duo of Cas One and Alxndrbrwn;

 The Sane Asylum, the buzz-bin-certified Strange Famous debut from OldBoy Rhymes, the international American emcee whose journey has taken him from the dark tundra of Alaska to the heaving jungles of Papua and far beyond. The record was produced by the mighty Mopes and features an incredible array of indie rap legends + SFR crew, including Sage Francis, Brother Ali, Mr. Lif, Myka 9, Zion I,  Locksmith, Akil of Jurassic 5, JEL, BlackLiq, Runt of Jivin Scientists, Lee Reed + many more;
With SFR, the second in Seez Mics‘ series of collaborative projects, featuring the Strange Famous home team – including Swell of Metermaids, Jesse The Tree, Early Adopted, Uncle Sage, and more;

Mopes‘ long-awaited Halloween season horror project Music from the Soundtrack to DEADOWBROOK, featuring out-of-this-world scary tales from Buck 65, L*Roneous, The Cloaks (Awol One & Gel Roc), Freddie Black, ToadStool, and more;

singles, remixes, reduxes, and all sorts of things you can check out at the SFR Bandcamp

 the return to the road of Sage Francis, who once again made appearances throughout the US – plus he made numerous feature appearances on tracks from nearly everyone listed above & began work on the final installment of his legendary Sick Of… mixtape series;

 the contributions of the magnificent Art By Tai & DOD45 Show, who featured a ton of SFR artists on their podcast and also hosted the 3rd annual DOD45 x SFR Christmastime collaboration episode. Tai & Ade do an invaluable job of capturing the spirit of the label through interviews and video in an incredible way we will forever be indebted for.

As the new year begins, we’ll continue to bring you more videos & instrumentals & merch & maybe even a remix contest or two from these albums.

2024 is looking to bring release schedule bursting with old favorites & new crew (and a few fresh collaborations between the two), including:

 the third action-packed full-length explosion from BlackLiq x Mopes

 Strange Famous sophomore ventures from Jesse The Tree, Lee Reed, and Aupheus

more incendiary drops from newcomer Oldboy Rhymes

 even more Mopes than you can shake a Prolyphic CD at!

and while nothing is etched in stone yet, but don’t be surprised if somewhere along the way you hear from Metermaids, Early Adopted, Alxndrbrwn, Buddy Peace, DJ Zole, and even more.

Oh, and… the biggest reason you’ve read this far… NEW MUSIC FROM SAGE FRANCIS!?!?

Honestly, we have no idea. Only the Sage knows. But it’s bound to happen sooner or later, and what is the New Year about if it’s not about #HOPE?
